General Questions

Q: Is Bluebonnet a franchise or chain?

No. Bluebonnet Beauty & Wellness is independently owned and operated by Dr. Davey M. Perrin. Every decision, from the technology we invest in to the way we care for patients, is made by Dr. Perrin.

Q: Do I need a referral to be seen?

No referral is needed. Simply book a consultation online, call us, or text us.

Q: Do you offer financing?

Yes. We understand that investing in your appearance and wellness is a meaningful commitment. We offer financing options through [CareCredit / PatientFi / Cherry / etc.] to make treatment plans accessible. Ask about financing during your consultation.

Q: What makes you different from other med spas?

Three things: (1) We are physician-owned and physician-led. (2) We’ve invested in Cynosure’s most advanced laser platforms — Clarity II, Ultra, and Xerf, technology typically found only in major metropolitan practices. (3) We treat you like a neighbor, not a number. Personal care, honest guidance, real results.

Laser Treatment Questions

Q: Is laser hair removal safe for dark skin?

Yes, with the right technology. Our Clarity II laser features a 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength specifically designed for safe, effective treatment of darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI). This wavelength bypasses surface melanin to target the hair follicle directly, dramatically reducing the risk of burns or discoloration. Dr. Perrin will assess your skin type and select the optimal wavelength during your consultation.

Q: How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Most patients need 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart, for optimal long-lasting results. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser is most effective during the active growth phase. Multiple sessions ensure all follicles are treated during their growth cycle. Occasional maintenance sessions may be desired after the initial series.

Q: Does laser hair removal hurt?

The Clarity II’s built-in Intelligent Cooling Device (ICD) delivers continuous cooling before, during, and after each laser pulse — making treatments significantly more comfortable than older laser systems. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick, warm snap followed immediately by cooling relief. Many say it’s more comfortable than waxing.

Q: What’s the difference between IPL and laser?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), used in our Ultra platform, delivers a broad spectrum of light wavelengths that target multiple concerns (pigment, redness, skin rejuvenation) simultaneously. A laser (like the Clarity II or Xerf) delivers a single, precise wavelength for targeted treatment of specific concerns. Both are effective — they simply work differently. Dr. Perrin will recommend the best technology for your specific needs.

Q: What’s the downtime for CO2 laser resurfacing (Xerf)?

The Xerf treatment is our most intensive offering, with correspondingly dramatic results. Plan for 7–14 days of dedicated healing time. During the first week, you’ll experience redness, swelling, and skin peeling as new skin emerges. Most patients return to normal activities by week 2, with redness continuing to fade over weeks 2–4. Full results develop over 3–6 months as collagen remodels.

Q: Can I get laser treatments if I have a tan?

It depends on the treatment. The Clarity II’s Nd:YAG (1064nm) wavelength can safely treat tanned skin for hair removal, vascular treatments, and toning — making year-round treatment possible. However, IPL (Ultra) and the Xerf laser generally require that tans fade before treatment. Bluebonnet will assess your current skin condition and advise accordingly. We always recommend sun protection before and after any laser treatment.

Q: Can you treat my specific scar/spot/concern?

The best way to know is through a consultation. Bluebonnet will examine your specific concern, assess your skin type and health history, and recommend the optimal treatment approach from our three Cynosure platforms and other modalities. Consultations for new patients are complimentary.

Sexual Wellness Questions

Q: Is the O-Shot/P-Shot painful?

We use thorough topical and local anesthesia to ensure comfort throughout the procedure. Most patients report minimal discomfort — often describing it as much less than they expected. The entire procedure takes approximately 30–45 minutes.

Q: How private is the sexual wellness consultation?

Completely private. Your consultation is conducted in a private exam room. Your records are HIPAA-protected. No information is shared with anyone without your explicit written consent. We understand the sensitive nature of these concerns and treat them with the utmost discretion and respect.

Hormone Questions

Q: How do I know if I need hormone therapy?

Common signs of hormonal imbalance include persistent fatigue, unexplained weight gain, mood changes, low libido, brain fog, sleep disruption, hot flashes, and thinning hair. However, the only way to know definitively is through comprehensive lab work. Dr. Perrin will order and review a thorough hormone panel and discuss your symptoms in detail during your evaluation.

Q: Is bioidentical hormone therapy safe?

Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the hormones your body produces naturally. When properly prescribed, monitored, and adjusted by a qualified physician, BHRT is considered safe and effective for many patients. A provider monitors your levels regularly and adjusts your plan as needed to maintain optimal, safe levels. They’ll discuss the benefits, risks, and alternatives thoroughly during your consultation.

Q: Can I combine PRP with laser treatments?

Absolutely — and we encourage it for certain protocols. Our signature Xerf + PRP combination applies PRP immediately after CO2 resurfacing to accelerate healing and enhance collagen production. PRP can also be combined with Ultra fractional treatments, microneedling, and other modalities. Dr. Perrin will design the optimal combination for your goals.

Honest medicine. Advanced technology. Genuine care.
